Mometasone being a drug to aid the skin disorders possesses some
side effects which can be taken care of .side effects being a part
of any medication are just its part and optional too. It is not
necessary that every patient taking it might undergo these problems.
Medical help from the skin specialist should be immediately taken if
the intake of this drug leads to difficulty in breathing or swelling
on the face. These are signs of allergic reactions and should not be
taken easy. The side effects caused due to mometasone are
categorized in serious and less serious group.
The serious side effects of mometsone are the wheezing, severe
rashes on the skin, bruising, pain, weakness in the muscles,
numbness, asthama symptoms and tingling. Many patients undergo a
change in the shape of the body. This may include change in the
places where fats accumulates. It can be arms, legs, neck, waist,
face or even breasts for some people.
The less serious category of side effects caused by Mometasone
include headache, pain in the joints, muscles or back,nausea,loss of
appetite, sore throat, bleeding of nose, pain caused due to sinus,
feeling tired and upset stomach. Women may undergo minor changes in
their menstrual cycle.
Some patients also undergo gain in weight, sleeping disorders also
called insomania, changes in the mood. Skin may also undergo
itching, burning, strech marks, pimples or changes in colour of the
skin and softening of skin. Swollen hair follicles and spider veins
are also the problems faced through rare in case.
